Wind Down Duo: Simmer Down

The long day is finally over, or the person who made it long just left. The pot goes on the stove. The bath runs warm upstairs. The door’s closed, and nobody’s knocking tonight.

Simmer Down fills the house with cinnamon, orange peel, and just enough peppercorn to remind you you’re still you. Sit-n-Stew is the long, warm soak with lavender, rose petals, and mugwort. Cozy house, warm bath, closed door.

How to use it

1. Simmer Down: empty the bag into a small pot, cover with water, and keep it on low. Top off the water as it cooks down.
2. Sit-n-Stew: run a warm bath, drop the whole muslin bag in, and let it steep. Squeeze it now and then while you soak.
3. Let the simmer pot dry out between uses, then give the spices a gentle squeeze to wake the oils back up. Reuse for a day or two, until the scent fades. Toss it if anything looks fuzzy or smells off.

Inside Simmer Down: cinnamon, star anise, whole peppercorns, cloves, orange peel, allspice berries, ginger.
